Invest in ME is a charity in the United Kingdom that campaigns for biomedical research into myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).[1] The main goal of the organization is to change the way ME is perceived in media and health care.[2] The charity favours the Canadian consensus criteria for diagnosis.

Activities

The charity has established an information centre and publishes a regular newsletter. It organizes international conferences on ME in London on a yearly basis, the first one held in 2006 on May 12, ME awareness day.[3]

Invest in ME criticize the investment of the Medical Research Council into behavioural management techniques as graded exercise therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, fearing a potential for adverse effects due to cardiovascular problems caused by the disease.[4]
