Rudolf Karl Bultmann (*20 August 1884 – 30 July 1976) was a German Lutheran theologian and professor of New Testament at the University of Marburg.

In the theology of Rudolf Bultmann, which strives to demythologize the New Testament, the kerygmatic Jesus Christ is seen in contrast to a historical Jesus of Nazareth. In this sense, the term kerygma is not a New Testament.[1]
