Kermit the Frog
Kermit the Frog is a muppet. He is green, and also reports the news as the trenched-coat correspondent for Sesame Street News. He sings a gentle, loving song about rainbows. That song, and others, are quite charming and one of the keys to Kermit's iconic stature. He has had a long relationship with Miss Piggy, who would love to be attached to her "Kermie" in matrimony, but Kermit is too much the bachelor.
Voice
The original voice of Kermit was performed by Muppet creator Jim Henson (1936-1990). When Henson died suddenly of pneumonia which he neglected because of overwork, auditions were held for his successor both for Kermit and other Muppet characters. Steve Whitmire got the position, but his voice lacked the charm of Henson, being, to purists, too "professional" and cultured rather than genuine. In 2017 Whitmire retired and and Matt Vogel took over the role.
The Bicycle
The Muppets have been featured in several motion pictures. One of the most everlastingly-charming scenes had Kermit riding a tricycle, with his frog legs rotating and his feet on the pedals. To those who believe in Kermit, that scene proves he is an actual living being, and not a marionette-puppet as others would claim!
