Attica (Greek: Αττική, Attiki) is a triangular peninsula in central Greece (about 2650 km²), surrounded on two sides by the Aegean Sea and bordered to the north by the landscapes of Megaris and Boeotia. It is also one of the thirteen regions of Greece. In addition to the peninsula of the same name, the region of Attica also includes the district of Troezen on the Peloponnese and the islands of Salamis, Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Kythira and Antikythera. |
