The exact mechanism by which lamotrigine acts as a mood stabilizer remains unclear[2] Lamotrigine inhibits the voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels[3] Rhabdomyolisis has been reported in a case of bipolar disorder by overdose of the lamotrigine [4]
