Brexit
Brexit is the process in which the United Kingdom is exiting the European Union.
History
The United Kingdom became part of the European Union in 1973.[1] As of April 2019, the United Kingdom has remained in the European Union since then; however, following a referendum which took place on June 23, 2016,[1] and showed that the majority of United Kingdom residents wanted to leave the EU, the United Kingdom began the process of leaving the European Union. As of April 2019, the process of leaving the EU has been delayed.
