Mathilde Wauters

Mathilde Wauters (Bruges, Belgium) is a young Belgian harpist.

She was a pupil of Eline Groslot at the Stedelijk conservatorium in Bruges, Belgium and of Amira Metodieva for a short time.

Awards, Honors

• In the springtime of 2012 at the Belgian National Belfius Classics Music Competition in the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg in Brussels, Mathilde Wauters became the First Laureate with a First Prize for Harp. She was also awarded the medal "Amira Metodieva" for the performance of Belgian composers in 2012 by the Union of Belgian Composers.

• In 2017 Mathilde Wauters obtained a Master Degree in Harp at the Royal Flemish Music Conservatory in Antwerp.

• Mathilde Wauters then completed her studies at the National Higher Conservatory in Paris with Isabelle Moretti.

• In 2019 she won the Bronze Medal at the 11th Lyon and Healy USA International Harp Competition in Chicago, Illinois and Bloomington, Indiana and the prize of the Best Concerto Performance.

• In 2018 the prestigious Peter Benoit Prize was awarded to harpist, composer and conductor Frits Celis in Antwerp,Belgium. At the tribute concert, Mathilde Wauters performed the famous, extremely difficult harp work by Frits Celis, Hymne to August De Boeck van Merchtem.
