Koen wurde in Amsterdam als Sohn von Hans Wessing und die Bidhauerin Eva Eisenloeffel geboren. Um 1957 unter der Leitung von Ed van Elsken war als Fotograf gebildet. Dann wird er einen Assisten von Elsken. Er fotografiert dem Militärputsh in [[Chile]], 1973, und 1975 Nieuwmarktrellen.
