Die Villa d’Este (ursprünglicher Name „Villa del Garovo“) ist eine herrschaftliche Renaissance-Residenz am Westufer des Comer Sees in der Gemeinde Cernobbio. Die Villa und der Park von 25 Hektar, obschon im Lauf der Zeit wesentlich verändert, bewahren dennoch einen guten Eindruck der ursprünglichen Anlage, als die Villa noch Sommerresidenz des Kardinals von Como war.  The Villa d'Este (original name "Villa del Garovo") is a stately Renaissance residence on the western shore of Lake Como in the town of Cernobbio. The villa and the park of 25 hectares, although changed significantly over time, yet retain a good impression of the original investment when the villa was the summer residence of the Cardinal of Como. Since 1873, the building complex was converted into a luxury hotel.
