As of May 2019, Theresa May is the prime minister of the United Kingdom. A politican from the Conservative Party, she followed David Cameron, who had previously been prime minister and was also a Conservative.
She moved into David Cameron’s position; therefore, she was not originally elected in a general election. She has been elected since.
