Leiden is a town in the Dutch province of South Holland. The city has 122 565 inhabitants (CBS). Neighboring municipalities are Oegstgeest, Katwijk, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Teylingen, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten and Wassenaar Zoeterwoude.

In Leiden, the Leiden Central Station. In 1997 might add Leiden 'central' to the name of the station, since Leiden had so many travelers every day and that it is in the top 5 most travelers each station in the Netherlands.

Leiden is a city with a rich history, including "the siege of Leiden', which is celebrated annually on October 3rd, which is also called the Relief of Leiden.

The city is the fortress of the castle which is existing approximately since the year 1000.
