Lamotrigine an AED and antidepressant effective in focal epilepsies, such as rolandic epilepsy [1]lamotrigine has also been found effective in the treatment of bipolar disorder being more efficacious in treating the depressive phase of the illness[2] Lamotrigine inhibits the voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels[3] Rhabdomyolisis has been reported in a case of bipolar disorder by overdose of the lamotrigine [4]
