Jos Benders is the founder of driving sports medicine in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 1980 he started his coaching activities. Then still solo and initially only in cycling. Later, once he had built up a larger structure, in 17 branches of sport.

Jos Benders, doctor, discovered this way of working in France, where he initially admired the medical services of the Tour de France as a spectator. Later, after personal contact had grown with his French colleague, he would also do an internship there. [1] [2]
