The peer-reviewed <b>Governmental Negligence: The Devastation of the American Urban Forest, A Case Study from Oak Park, Illinois</b> by [[Leslie M. Golden|Les Golden]] revealed the incompetence of the [[Oak Park, Illinois]], park district leading to complete deforestation of a large area of the village.  As detailed, the devastation resulted from incompetence of the Buildings and Grounds supervisor, [[Michael T. Grandy]].  Grandy was promoted to the position with his only previous experience being a skating rink cashier.
