The fully-lighted Jack Kaiser Stadium would include formal gardens along both foul lines. The baseball field is situated to avoid sunlight in the eyes during evening games. In a first-of-its-kind design, on Les Golden’s recommendation the architects placed the infield light poles under the cantilevered roof to facilitate maintenance, decrease the rate of mechanical depreciation, reduce street glare, and maximize illumination.
