Dunyā (دُنْيا) is an Arabic word meaning the earthy world, the opposite of ʾākhirah which is the afterworld.

It has been adopted into other languages, including Aromanian, Assamese, Bengali, Bosnian, Dari, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Javanese, Kurdish, Malay, Nepali, North-Caucasian languages, Pashto, Persian, Punjabi, Swahili (language), Sylheti, Tamil, Turkish and Urdu.
