Bezafibrate was originally developed as a drug for treatment of hyperlipidemia and used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. This fibrate reduces triglyceride and riseHDL-cholesterol[1][2]
ursodeoxycholic acid and bezafibrate are under study in the treatment of biliar cirrhosis (See Figure in gallery).
