the monumental statue of Jacob van Artevelde, founded in 1863 on Vrijdagmarkt ( Ghent). This monument is the work of Pieter De Vigne-Quyo. On the pedestal one finds a remarkable series of images of the coats of arms of mainly small guilds (or guilds) of the city of Ghent.
